Virtus.pro has defeated NiP 16-14 on de_dust2_se (6-9, 10-5) in the SLTV StarSeries V Finals grand final to win the tournament with a 2-0 win in the best-of-five grand final.
Emil "kucher" Akhundov continued performing well on de_dust2_se as he delayed two NiP opponents enough on the opening pistol round for Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund to miss the defuse due to not having a defuse kit.
NiP scored a few kills on their save round, and went for a third round buy which proved successful as they quickly tied the game at two. Virtus went another double save and got into a two-on-one on round five, but Richard "Xizt" Landström won the round for his team.
Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov opened up the next round with two AK47 kills, followed up by a two-on-three win by his brother Sergey "Fox" Stolyarov and Dauren "AdreN" Kystabayev to make it 3-3.
Next ronds were traded before Virtus' B attack got them a win and broke NiP's money to make it 6-4. However, the Swedes fought back with four straight counter-terrorist rounds, giving them a 8-6 lead with Adam "friberg" Friberg scoring a one-on-one win versus Kirill "ANGE1 Karasiow in A.
f0rest couldn't carry his team over the finish line in Kiev
Final round of the half went to NiP as well, as Alesund rushed up middle with his M4A4 to score two opening frags that allowed his team to come out on top for a 9-6 lead on the harder side of the map.
The Swedes' bombsite A split put them up 12-6 after a won terrorist pistol round and two saves, but Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov's M4A4 skill won the CIS-based team the first buy round of the half.
Karasiow's two kills aren't enough on the following round, as Alesund scores two kills to give NiP entry to B, and the older Stolyarov's two M4A4 kills aren't enough as his brother Mihail doesn't have time to defuse.
Down 7-13, Virtus decides to go for a force buy with Kystaubayev getting three huge kills with an M4A4 to keep his team in the game. The team then went for a DTS-style B tunnel push, and surprised NiP.
Virtus.pro scored another 2-0 victory over NiP
Still trailing 9-13, Aleksey "LeX" Kolesnikov's team continued strong defense around the map and won another gun round, forcing NiP to save and cutting the Ninjas' lead to 11-13.
NiP continued struggling as terrorists, just like two nights ago in the upper bracket final, and only managed one of the four coming rounds, and found themselves tied at fourteen a piece despite an early 12-6 lead.
Virtus.pro broke NiP's backbone by winning the twenty-ninth round, and the Swedes' weak buy couldn't overcome Stolyarovs & company in the final round, as Virtus.pro went on to win 16-14, 2-0 overall. SLTV StarSeries V FinalsBest of 2 Virtus.pro
